MORGAN FOX STRIKES AGAIN

The layered, twisting wooden piece is Morgans! You'll see it on the link!

See excerpts below from

www.cultureshapers.com regarding the Culture Shapers Sculpture competition yesterday.

Morgan is one of the 15 finalists: All 105 pieces can be viewed in a slide show at: http://www.ratemycultureshapersentry.com/ Keep your fingers crossed for Morgan. The top prize is $5000! He thinks there is some tough competition though, and I agree after viewing the slideshow...
Excerpts:

Congratulations to the 105 students who entered the 2006 Culture Shapers Sculpture category on Friday, October 20th. Judging took place on Saturday, October 21st and the TOP 15 finalists will be posted to this site on Monday, November 13th.

Everyone who toured the entries during the Open House commented that this is the best body of work that this contest has seen so far, and one of our judges even asked, “Are you sure that these are all high school student entries?” Great job to everyone who had the courage to enter this year’s contest!

The judges have now narrowed the field from 105 to 15. The really hard work now begins. The quality this year has moved up a notch. It seems that’s the case each year in all categories.
We do not know the order of the fifteen so we don’t know who the top ten money winners are, but this we do know!
EIGHT different IDS’s got one entry into the final fifteen and they include: Magnolia, Brazosport, Spring Branch, Alief, Klein, Cy-Fair, Katy, and HISD!
And then thre is John Cooper Private School! I don’t know what Bob Mosier has going on out in the Woodlands, but I do know this- they evidently have a fabulous program because they have SEVEN of the top FIFTEEN entries.
Congratulations to ALL for making the effort. You did something, you finished something, you expressed yourself!

In light of many cut backs in the arts, we came close to last year (111) in entries this year. Behind John Cooper’s haul, congratulations to Alief ISD for having the most entries (Hastings, Kerr, Elsik, and Taylor high schools). Spring Branc
